✨ Welcome to My Story World
Hi, I’m Yusuf B. Ilkay, a 10-year-old author and storyteller from Chilliwack, British Columbia.
I believe that every act of kindness — no matter how small — can make the world a happier place.
That’s what inspired me to write my first children’s book, Chubby Cheeks and the Grumpy Neighbor. 🐰💛
📖 “Kindness can turn grumpiness into friendship.”
That’s the heart of my stories.
🖋️ How It All Began
I started drawing and writing short stories when I was only four years old.
I loved creating little adventures on paper — stories about animals, friendship, and imagination.
Over the years, those small stories grew into something bigger.
With my family’s help, I learned how to turn my ideas into real picture books that I could share with other kids around the world.
🌿 Today, I’m working on new stories full of friendship, courage, and fun — and I can’t wait to share them soon!
📚 My First Book
Chubby Cheeks and the Grumpy Neighbor
A heartwarming story about a curious bunny who learns that kindness can turn even the grumpiest neighbor into a friend.
It’s a story about patience, friendship, and finding joy in helping others — written and imagined by a 9-year-old dreamer who believes in kindness.
🎨 Behind the Pages
Every story starts with a sketch — a small idea that grows into a world of colors and emotions.
Here’s how Chubby Cheeks came to life!
🌟 A Little About Me
I’m a grade 5 student at Greendale Community School.
I play soccer for Chilliwack FC A2 team, take piano lessons at the Chilliwack Art Centre, and love swimming, ice skating, and exploring nature.
When I’m not writing or drawing, I spend time with my three younger brothers on our 7-acre hobby farm in Greendale.
We take care of lots of animals — and I love riding my ATV and dirt bike around the fields!
What’s Next
I’m already working on my next stories!
Each one is filled with imagination, kindness, and adventure.
Stay tuned — there’s so much more to come!
